Alongside the need to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions, there is an urgent and growing need to support communities to adapt to the changes already happening. UNICEF’s Climate Positive initiative provides children who are least responsible, but most affected by climate change, with the tools to cope with their changing environment. Examples of our projects include creating cyclone and flood resilient schools; planting trees to promote watershed management, and establishing rainwater harvesting systems to overcome periods of drought.
Climate Positive is an opportunity for a company to engage in making a positive contribution, and help developing countries become more climate resilient. Climate Positive provides numerous benefits to businesses, including the opportunity to distinguish your brand within the marketplace, motivate and engage employees, attract new customers and clients, and engage with the media and Governments. Companies are also becoming increasingly aware of the effects of climate change on their organisations supply chain and want to show a commitment to the communities in which they operate.

Climate Positive provides the human face to climate change and could help raise awareness of internal carbon reduction programmes to help meet business objectives. UNICEF has a variety of projects available in a number of locations and would welcome the discussion to introduce climate positive and the options available to your company.
