Sustainable Marketing
The Mayday Network is convened by Business in the Community (BITC). The programme listed below is run by BITC and is helping Mayday members to take action along specific stages of the Mayday Journey towards a sustainable future. We hope you’ll get involved.
Sustainable Marketing
BITC’s Sustainable Marketing experts run a series of workshops with marketing directors to raise awareness and encourage them to integrate sustainability into their marketing strategies through Sustainable Marketing. Sustainable marketing is about what you market – creating brands and businesses fit for the future – and the way in which you market – providing clear, relevant information and campaigns to create both profit and positive societal change. It involves product/service innovation, effective communications and influencing consumer behaviour to be more sustainable. Influencing Consumer Behaviour – A Guide for Sustainable Marketing
The guide brings together consumer insight and marketing experience from six major UK and global companies – B&Q, Kraft Foods, EDF Energy, Marks and Spencer, Unilever and Waitrose – as well as conversations with 50 marketers, and an extensive review of existing work in this area. The guide describes how businesses can identify their own ‘Area of Opportunity’ to influence consumers – the space in which consumer priorities, business action and brand values are aligned. It also features a series of 'learning by doing' case studies on each of the participating companies. http://www.bitc.org.uk/marketplace/customers/influencing_consumer.html
